About Us

Welcome to the Grime Store ‘about us’ page. We are a group of individuals from many different backgrounds, passionately and professionally involved in the scene, with the intention of making the music more accessible and more readily available online to current and new fans alike.

Before this project was even started, we set up the Grimepedia in October 2007- a website based on the Wikipedia that lists everything and anything about Grime music, from top MC’s to graphic designers- literally anyone or anything connected with the scene is either listed, or currently being added! Access this website at www.grimepedia.co.uk

Shortly after that we set up the Grime Forum at the end of January 2008. A community for people with a common interest to discuss the music, the rave scene, the radio situation and anything connected to grime. With people from the scene gradually starting to sign up and share their work on there, from Terror Danjah of London to Joker of Bristol, it’s a thriving community that improves day by day. Check it out for yourself at www.grimeforum.com

And this brings us to May 2008. Not even a year from the start of our adventure, we set up an online grime store with the aim of bringing CD’s to fans at a cheaper and fairer price than currently available. The aim is that all profits are re-invested into the running of the websites and the maintaining of the software they use to further improve what we have started- to help push the grime sound forward in our own way.

With a good, stable relationship with many of the artists and especially DJ’s in the scene, our main aim is to help add to and improve the scene before any financial gain for ourselves. As a unit, we are not self centred or self motivated and will lend our support, where possible to similar projects that we believe are helpful and constructive for the scene. Therefore we’d like to bring your attention to www.grimetapes.com, a site set up by a member of our forum to document and archive a large number of old radio sets from all types of radio stations, including but not limited to Deja Vu, Heat FM and Rinse 100.4.

We’d also like to bring your attention to our sister site which is run by two working partners of ours, Elijah and Skilliam. www.butterz.co.uk This sites intention is to push the Grime scene forward by the more obvious medium of sound. An aspiring radio collective as well as event organisers, we firmly believe they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2008 and beyond. You can contact us via our company Myspace at www.myspace.com/thegrimewikipedia to ask us any questions that you may have. Thanks for reading and enjoy our sites.
